  • According to the January 6, 1967 issue Sentinel (vol. IX, no. 3), a gigantic French-built climber crane was used during construction, rising 2 floors at a time. After completing the roof, a mobile crane with a 230-foot extension boom was used to remove the climber crane on December 15, 1966.
  • According to the January 11, 1993 issue of InfoLink, floors 2-11 were to be vacated (basement & 1st floor remaining in operation for Visitor Control Center & Video Teleconference Center), with executives relocating to E1 as "the result of elimination of the Sector" that "will also save approximately $1 million worth of maintenance and repairs."
  • According to the November 11, 1994 issue of InfoLink, E2 had been unoccupied for more than a year ("since early 1993") "because of a company reorganization." This announcement came after "approximately 40" employees had moved back into E2 to support Odyssey (a commercial-satellite communications system that ended unsuccessfully in 1998). The article acknowledged unfounded rumors about E2's structural integrity and fire safety, dispelled by Redondo Beach building and fire officials, who had recently completed their inspection, thereby approving it for occupancy.
  • According to the May 1997 issue of InfoLink (vol. 5, no. 5), with floors 1-5 occupied, "employees from the Legal Department, Group Staff and the Defense Systems Division" moved into floors 6-9.
