"This is the first issue of QUEST, which is published for members of the technical staff of TRW Defense and Space Systems Group.  Our intention is to inform you on a broad range of applied technology activities now being pursued here under Independent Research and Development (IR&D) and/or contract.  We have taken the approach of the technical article rather than the journal paper so that professionals will be able to grasp quickly key ideas in specialized disciplines outside their own."--Quest vol. 1, No. 1, Winter 1976/1977

DSSG = Defense and Space Systems Group

EDS = Electronics & Defense Sector ("The sector consists of the Defense Systems Group, Electronic Systems Group, Space & Technology Group, Energy Development Group, Operations & Support Group, Electronic Components Group, Communications Group, and Information Services Division.")

SDS = Space & Defense Sector ("The sector consists of the Avionics & Surveillance Group, Electronic Systems Group, Space & Technology Group, and Systems Integration Group.")

"Beginning next year ... employee communications will be developed by individual Groups and distributed to employees of those Groups.  The decision to eliminate Sector-level publications is consistent with the restructure and with our efforts to de-centralize the organization ... as result of the restructure, Quest will be eliminated beginning January 1."--Sentinel Express vol. 4, No. 24, December 14, 1992
